CloudEngineer – China Platform Specialist
To support the expansion of our cloud platform and AI-powered applications in the Chinese market, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in
Alibaba Cloud
. You will join our interdisciplinary Platform Team and help design, implement, and operate cloud-native services for customers in China while contributing to our broader cloud platform strategy.
This is a hands-on engineering role. We are looking for someone with practical experience running production cloud applications in China and a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, security, and operational excellence.
Your tasks

As a Cloud Engineer – China Platform Specialist, you will:

Design, implement, and operate scalable cloud solutions on Alibaba Cloud

• €¢
  
Support the deployment and operation of customer-facing cloud applications in the Chinese market

• €¢
  
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using modern automation frameworks

• €¢
  
Design and implement secure cloud architectures and operational practices

• €¢
  
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications and platform services

• €¢
  
Collaborate with platform engineers to support future multi-cloud strategies across Alibaba Cloud and AWS

• €¢
  
Contribute to monitoring, logging, observability, and operational excellence initiatives

• €¢
  
Support containerized workloads and cloud-native application architectures

• €¢
  
Act as an internal expert for the Chinese cloud ecosystem and regional cloud requirements

• €¢
  
Work closely with product teams and platform colleagues in a SCRUM-based setup
Your profile

• €¢
  
We’re looking for someone with the following background and mindset:

• €¢
  
Degree in computer science, engineering, or natural sciences

• €¢
  
Hands-on experience developing and operating applications on Alibaba Cloud

• €¢
  
Experience running cloud applications for customers in China

• €¢
  
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security concepts

• €¢
  
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tools

• €¢
  
Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and automation pipelines

• €¢
  
Experience with container technologies; Kubernetes experience is a strong advantage

• €¢
  
Experience with AWS is a plus

• €¢
  
Familiarity with cloud compliance, reliability, and operational best practices

• €¢
  
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• €¢
  
Fluent English required

• €¢
  
Chinese language skills are highly desirable

German is a plus
