Your responsibilities
This position combines infrastructure development (~40%) with user-oriented IT support (~10%) in a heterogeneous scientific environment. Initial fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension and increased workload. IT Infrastructure & Systems (primary focus)

• €¢
  
Maintain, develop, and improve workstations, servers, and scientific instrument computers (Windows, macOS, Linux)

• €¢
  
Support and further develop network connectivity in coordination with central IT services of the University

• €¢
  
Manage and support virtualization and container-based environments

• €¢
  
Ensure and contribute to system reliability (backup, updates, monitoring)
Support & Operations (limited scope), in collaboration with additional IT support personnel

• €¢
  
Provide user-oriented IT support (analysis, prioritization, and resolution of issues)

• €¢
  
Act as a local interface to central IT services (1st and 2nd level support)
Coordination & Projects

• €¢
  
Contribute to IT security, asset management (GLPI), and system documentation

• €¢
  
Support web and digital services (updates, access, and content workflows)

• €¢
  
Assist with procurement and lifecycle management of hardware and software

• €¢
  
Collaborate closely with researchers, lab managers, and administration



YOUR PROFILE

Training in IT / computer science or equivalent professional experience

• €¢
  
Strong hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments

• €¢
  
Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, and container technologies

• €¢
  
Experience in troubleshooting complex IT infrastructures (hardware and software)

• €¢
  
Structured, service-oriented, and proactive working style

• €¢
  
Strong communication skills in German and English

• €¢
  
Experience in a scientific or academic environment is an asset
